On 5. November 2019, the Second ‘Qing Yuan Cup’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (special session for mentors and students of South China Normal University) closed in Tian An Zhi Gu International Convention and Exhibition Center. The teachers and students of the School of Environment won one of the first, second and third prizes.
‘Qing Yuan’ means youth’s aspiration. ‘Qing Yuan Cup’ is one of the most important major events supported by South China Normal University. It aims to build a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship exhibition, communication, resource docking as well as project incubation. It leads young students from all walks of life actively participate in the ‘Double Creations’ trend. A total of 92 projects were divided into two groups, i.e., mentor group and student group. After fierce competition, there are 23 award-winning projects. Among them, a first prize, a second prize, and a third prize went to the School of Environment. Prof. Mingzhi Huang’s team won the second prize in the mentor group. The winning project was the "Integrated intelligent system and technique for environmental high-risk chemical pollution monitoring and treatment". Shiyu Chen’s team won the first prize in the student group. The project was "Nanofiltration continuous production technology", and Xiaoyong Li’s team won the third prize in the student group. The students of the School of Environment, represented by Shiyu Chen and Xiaoyong Li, bravely challenged themselves, dared to explore and innovate, combined theory with practice, and constantly gain achievement in the competition. The students of SOE will work hard as an example to show their self, and carry forward the spirit of "being the first and bravely setting the stage".
