Dr. Hongxing Chen, Assistant Professor. His research is based on biochemistry, molecular technology, omics technology, histopathology and population dynamics, which focuses on the field of metals and aquatic toxicology, such as the bioaccumulation of metals in aquatic organisms, the food-chain transfer, and their ecotoxicological effects in various biological levels. Specifically, the fields include: 1) molecular mechanisms of environmental toxicology; 2) the bioaccumulation, distribution, food-chain transfer and the corresponding ecotoxicology; 3) the influence of exposure routes (e.g., dissolved exposure, dietary exposure, maternal transfer etc.) on metal toxicology in aquatic organisms (e.g., algae, invertebrates, oligochaets, fish etc.). His research has been supported by funding from 1 Youth Talents Innovative Project from Guangdong, 1 Young Teacher Research and Development Fund from South China Normal University. He Participates in 1 funding from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 2 funding from NSFC Youth Program, and 1 funding from One-hundred Talent Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He has published 18 papers in international journals including Aquatic Toxicology, Chemosphere, Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, etc.
